CNO survey reflects concern about nursing shortage
A survey of more than 230 CNOs finds nurse leaders are worried about the effect of nurse shortages on patient and staff satisfaction and nurse recruitment. Most of the CNOs said their health care organizations are currently experiencing some level of nurse shortage and thought it would get worse over the next five years. Most also said recruiting has become challenging, with 41 percent describing it as significant or severe. About a third (34 percent) said the nurse shortage has a considerable or great impact on patient care, and 41 percent said shortages are detrimental to patient satisfaction. Read more.
